A huge thank you to the Mozambican energy community for coming together in October at the Mozambique Gas Virtual Summit. Despite the continued impacts of COVID-19, there was a resilient message from the industry that the energy sector will continue to develop and evolve. The announcement of USD $15bn being invested into Mozambique earlier in the year is a very clear testament to this. In addition, we learned that Area 4 partners are committed to progress on Rovuma LNG, with the expectation that FID will take place in 2021, and that some 1691 local companies are registered as suppliers, and thus qualified to tender for the 5000 jobs being created. Mozambique is certainly set for a continued upward trajectory.
