Sasha Vieira is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with over 23 years commercial experience in Auditing, Accounting, Learning and Development, Strategy Facilitation, Project Management, Process Reengineering, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing from UCT/RAU, two Post Graduate Diplomas in Oil and Gas US GAAP Petroleum and Production Accounting through the University of North Texas as well as a Corporate Venturing/Entrepreneurship Post Graduate Diploma through Stanford University. She is a LEAN Master Practitioner and has a LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt international certification.
She has held senior positions at KPMG South Africa and Mozambique, Sasol Petroleum Temane, Barclays Bank Mozambique and Standard Bank Mozambique. Her current position is Head of Enterprise Banking and Incubator at Standard Bank. She is a Trustee in Help Save My Life Foundation and also sits on the Board of Advisors of AIESEC in Isctem in Mozambique.
She has mentored at the Seedstars Maputo 2016, 2017 and 2018 local events, the Slush Global Impact Accelerator local bootcamp 2017 and has attended various forums as a panel member and subject matter expert including Moztech, JETRO (Japanese External Trade Organisation) SME Policy Forum Event in Maputo and MUVA roundtable . She formed part of a “Mozambican Influentials” delegation that went to the Netherlands to evaluate the Dutch ecosystem and get insights as to how to improve the Mozambican entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The Standard Bank Incubator Mozambique was inaugurated on the 11th of August 2017 and was recently awarded the “Best Incubator/Accelerator Programme in Mozambique by the Southern Africa Startup Awards on the 5th of September 2018.
She is an avid supporter of the “Next Africa” narrative and strongly believes that by building strong entrepreneurial ecosystems and empowering the African youth and entrepreneurs, Africa will realise its enormous potential.
